The title itself is derived from the word ipseity, meaning the quality of being oneself. It sets the tone for an introspective yet assertive body of work that captures who Oba Lurge is at his core.

Biography
Born in Southern Nigeria, Oba Lurge is a multifaceted creative from Lagos Nigeria.
His music is a symbol of hope and aspiration, a perfect mix of Hiphop, Afrobeats and Dancehall. He honed his craft by making covers and working on every instrumentals he laid his hands on with record producer St Kay.
He started his imprint Mich Selber Records in 2018 where he signed himself and released 2 eps Mich Selber the Mixtape & Grammy Dreams in January & December of 2019 respectively. A debut launch with guest appearances from Dj Voyst and Joeboy.
In 2021 he became the first Nigerian rapper to sign a distribution deal with Universal Music Nigeria, he obtained a certificate in Sound Recording & Production for Film & Tv, from Ebonylife Creative Academy in 2022, while in film school he released Son Of George IV , and was soon awarded with the “Best Location Sound” award, for his contribution on the short film “Last Operation”. He also had his record Energy featuring Iyanya synced in the short film “After Party” all by the Academy.
